Air-Chilled Chicken
D’Artagnan’s air-chilled chickens are naturally raised in Indiana by a second-generation Amish family-owned farm in business since 1940. These free-roaming Rock Cornish chickens are hormone-free, and never administered antibiotics. The birds are fed an all-vegetarian diet that is grown, ground and mixed by the farm. The unique air-chilling process does not add water weight, resulting in more flavor, a firmer texture and crispier skin.
Organic Chicken
D’Artagnan was the first certified free range organic chicken in the market. You’ll savor the "buttery taste and texture" of this wonderful meat. Only whole organic grains and pure spring water are fed to the birds. Try it simply roasted or as coq au vin.
Green Circle Chicken
Featured on the front page of The New York Times and CNN, this unique chicken was inspired by the common sense, waste-nothing philosophy of days past, when chickens lived on vegetable scraps and roamed freely around farmyards and pastureland. In that tradition, we regeneratively raise our chickens on a diet of surplus vegetables and trimmings – we are talking about actual vegetables here - collected from commercial kitchens and farmer’s markets. By saving these vegetables from their fate in a landfill and turning them into nutritious chicken feed, we raise healthier birds and contribute to a better world. Not only are they fed well, these chickens are certified humane, making them rare birds indeed. They are air-chilled during processing, which means you get nothing but pure chicken flavor, not retained water.
Poussin
Poussin, which is also known as Spring Chicken, is a young Rock Cornish chicken ranging in weight from 16-20 ounces. They have extremely tender, light meat, with a delicate texture and a full flavor profile.
