MacFarlane Pheasant has been in the game bird business since 1929, when pheasants were not readily available in the US and often imported from England. Located in Janesville, Wisconsin, MacFarlane has grown to be the largest pheasant producer in North America and still strives for sustainable practices. At MacFarlane they raise the flocks above industry standards, guaranteeing access to quality feed, fresh water and cover. The company currently has 35 acres enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) which encourages farmers to convert highly erodible cropland or other environmentally sensitive acreage to vegetative cover, such as tame or native grasses, wildlife plantings, trees, filter strips, or riparian buffers.
